When a person realizes he is gaining weight and needs to lose the same, he should approach the situation from a holistic point of view, so that what he loses is not going to come back. First try and find out what is causing obesity? It could be a genetic disorder? But in most cases the reason will turn out to be an unhealthy lifestyle.

Large amounts of carbohydrate, refined sugar and caffeine in the form of a pizza or a burger along with cola is now a regular diet for most people. “No time” is usually the excuse that is given. People are eating very unhealthy food and do not have enough exercise. This has lead to deterioration in our digestive system, with food not being digested well, toxins and waste getting accumulated in the colon and nutrients not getting absorbed into our body.

When our digestive system including the colon doesn’t function well, we end up not having regular bowel movements. The lack of nutrients being absorbed into our body creates a malnourished feeling and our body craves for more food. This in turn results in us having more unhealthy food which again doesn’t get digested. And the vicious cycle continues.

With the toxins getting accumulated as a result of irregular bowel movements people tend to feel lethargic and fatigued. This in turn has negative effects on their lifestyle. People just don’t have the energy to exercise. As you can see everything seems to be related and connected. You eat unhealthy, you spoil your system, this in turn makes you eat more unhealthy food and not exercise. The loop goes on and you become overweight.

Now that you have found what is causing the weight gain, next you need to take a holistic approach to resolve it. It should start with cleansing your body, preparing and building your body and moving towards changing your lifestyle to a healthy one.

Cleansing your body includes cleansing your colon. This will help flush out all the toxins and residual fecal matter. It will improve your bowel movements and hence result in a better and healthy digestive system. With toxins removed you will feel less fatigued and more up to taking up an exercise.

Of course doing only a colon cleanse is not going to keep your weight off forever. You need to take up a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and exercise. There is no short cut to that.

To answer the question “will colon cleansing help me lose weight”, I think the answer is clear. Colon cleansing should be an important element to your weight loss program, probably the first aspect to be considered.
